Engaged Friday

At Carmi, we prefer to be 'Engaged' rather than 'Black', hence the donation of 5% of our sales this Friday (November 25) to charity.

Every year, we deliberately choose a local charity because, as a local retailer, we believe that the difference should be made here, 'close to home'.

Carmi Aubel's choice this year is “Le Bailou”.
The BAILOU aims to promote the personal development and social participation of disabled people, while integrating them into a group where they can find answers to their needs and feel a sense of solidarity with others. By creating a framework and an atmosphere where everyone can find their place and feel at ease, BAILOU aims to reduce differences.

This year, together with Carmi Zemst, we are donating 5% of total sales on Friday November 29 to Home-Start Vlaanderen.
Home-Start offers preventive and low-threshold support to families with young children. Volunteer and trained family buddies assist parents in their daily concerns about parenting, pregnancy, administration and school matters. With a weekly home visit, they strengthen parents in their parenting role, broaden the network around the family and build the self-confidence of parents and children.

Also with Carmi Korbeek-Lo, we are donating 5% of total sales on Friday, November 29, to charity Adem vzw.
Adem vzw, located in Lovenjoel, provides warm places where children, adolescents, young adults and adults with special support needs can live, live, grow, play and relax. They do this through various living groups, brief care, day support and home-based care.
They feel it is important for the children and youth to relax and have fun in a variety of ways, including outside in their yard. However, the playground equipment currently there is very outdated, limited access and no longer safe. 
Through the installation of a new playground equipment, they want to commit to both the children's and young people's leisure time, as well as connect to the broader context: a place where children can invite their family, friends and neighbors.
